Problem
The design relied on animation that is hard to ship on Shopify without hurting speed. Every effect had to survive the move into a real store, and the brand's designers needed to stay in the loop.
Solution
I integrated the finished layout into a Shopify theme and replaced hard-coded markup with dynamic Liquid sections for animations, interactive blocks and layouts. I checked each animation with the designer before building it, and ran several QA rounds with the client. In 2026 I added product images that switch with the selected variant.
Key decisions
Chose to check every animation with the designer before building it
Why It kept the visual effect and exposed performance problems before they were written into code.
Chose to build animations inside editable sections
Why The client changes content on its own and the effects keep working.
Chose a Webpack build tuned for animation cost
Why Animated pages stay fast on mobile instead of paying for every effect up front.
Results
- The store is live with the full animated home page.
- Complex custom animations run without a speed penalty.
- Content is editable in sections, with the effects intact.
- Product images change with the selected variant.
