Do I need Shopify Plus?
For extensions on the checkout steps and for custom apps with Functions, yes. The Thank you and order status pages can be extended on other plans too.
How do you make sure prices stay right?
With end-to-end tests. In Kidoriman's bundle builder, prices matched from the product page to cart, checkout and order, for every add-to-cart order up to twelve items.
